Phase Modifier Bearings Details

This is a heavy-duty split hydrodynamic journal bearing unit designed specifically for phase modifier and direct-drive synchronous rotating equipment. It consists of a horizontally split bearing housing and bimetallic bronze bearing shells, capable of enduring complex radial loads and shock loads under low-to-medium speed operating conditions. The bearing performs excellently for large hollow shaft structures and heavy fluctuating loads where conventional rolling bearings face high failure risks.
Several structural configurations are available, including independent split bearing housings and integrated motor-bearing assemblies. The main differences lie in base design, outer frame structure and optional auxiliary lubrication systems.
The split bearing shells can be disassembled without removing the main rotor shaft, greatly facilitating on-site inspection and maintenance. Stable hydrodynamic oil film can be formed during continuous operation, providing reliable vibration damping and shock absorption capacity for the rotating system.
Bearing operating clearance and lubrication parameters are critical factors influencing overall performance. These parameters directly affect oil film thickness, operating temperature, power consumption, vibration stiffness and damping characteristics. The assembly clearance is matched according to rotor diameter, operating speed and actual load spectrum of the phase modifier unit.
Optimized bearing clearance is configured based on operating speed and load conditions. Standard bearing shells can be adapted to multiple rotor specifications by matched machining. Our bearing units are interchangeable with mainstream international brands for phase modifier projects.
